Air bag indicator on dash flashing. Fault indicates that the passenger seat has a faulty seat cushion sensor. Dealer stated that owner has to pay $2,000 to repair. In the mean time any passenger riding in the passenger seat does not have airbag protection. I do not understand why nissan is not required to repair safety issues?

Some 2008 nissan rogues were recalled for the passenger seat airbag sensor not working and causing the entire airbag system not to work. This recall was not applied to my vin but i have diagnosed through a nissan dealership that i have the same issue. Nissan will not help to cover the costs of repair. Our passenger seat airbag sensor switched to off, will no longer turn on and our srs light is on.

Supplemental air bag light is always flashing when vehicle is on. Dealer did diagnostic and said there's a problem with the passenger seat air bag sensor. The only remedy is to replace the passenger seat entirely. If the passenger seat is not replaced, the air bag may not deploy when it should.
